터프팅 공예 전시(이화정 개인전)

전시 서문

곶자왈에는 이름도 낯선 식물들이 조용히 살아갑니다. 빛이 부족하고, 뿌리 내릴 흙조차 거의 없는 땅에서도 그들은 각자의 방식으로 살아남고, 서로에게 기대어 자라납니다. 저는 그 숲에서, 다름을 품고 각자의 방식을 인정하며 살아가는 삶의 아름다움을 발견했습니다.

이번 전시는 그 숲의 풍경에서 시작되었습니다. 조화롭게 살아가는 곶자왈 속 다양한 생명들, 멸종위기 식물에서 영감을 받은 형상들, 태양이 뜨고 저물어감에 따라 색을 달리하는 이끼, 그리고 당신을 닮은 색들이 작품 속에 놓여 있습니다. 저는 작업을 통해 곶자왈이 들려준 이야기를 따라가며, 나다움을 찾고 싶었습니다 .

작품을 마주하는 동안, 어떤 식물은 당신을 닮아 있을지도 모릅니다. 어떤 색은 지금의 당신의 마음을 비추고 있을지도 모릅니다. 정해진 의미는 없습니다. 다만, 당신이 가진 고유함을 조금 더 사랑하게 되기를 바랍니다.

이 숲을 떠나는 당신의 마음이 조금 더 단단해지고, 서로를 바라보는 시선이 조금 더 따뜻해지기를 바라며

이 전시를 바칩니다.

Exhibition preface

In the Ggotjawal forest, quiet plants with unfamiliar names live their lives in silence. Even in places where sunlight barely reaches and there is hardly any soil to take root, they each find their own way to survive, leaning on one another as they grow. In that forest, I discovered the beauty of life that embraces differences and acknowledges each being’s own way of living.

This exhibition was born from that landscape. Within it are scenes of diverse lives coexisting in harmony within the Ggotjawal, forms inspired by endangered plants, moss that changes color as the sun rises and sets, and colors that may resemble you. Through my work, I followed the stories whispered by the forest, hoping to find a sense of my own identity.

As you stand before the works, you may find a plant that reminds you of yourself, or a color that reflects your heart at this very moment. There is no fixed meaning here only an invitation to love the uniqueness that already exists within you.

When you leave this forest, I hope your heart feels a little stronger, and your gaze toward others becomes a little warmer. With that wish, I offer this exhibition to you.
